What do we really want in life. Well, in India, most of the time (till today) our parents answer this question for us. They chose the school we should (well yea..coz at that time we were too busy eating the orange and cola coloured toffees aka “Candies”), they chose the stream we should pursue to make a good career (not trying to sound old, but some of us didn’t have a choice here), graduate and get a great job (after all we don’t want us to be criticised by our parents in front of Uncles and Aunties for not being able to do well in life), get married to a “WELL-SETTLED” person and then do the same things to our kids and the vicious cycle continues.

But, what do we really want.

Don’t think you’re on the right road just because it’s a well-beaten path.” – Author Unknown

  1. Yes…being happy gives you a calm mind to accept both favorable and not so favorable moments!!!!
And then we could calmly decide on whether to keep moving on the same path or to change the track at the right time!

  2. Ah the eternal question that begs different answers…ultimately we want to matter, have a sense of fulfillment, be happy love and be loved and most of all break the vicious cycle of living up to others expectations like you mentioned before.

  3. This is so true!
The best thing we can do, I think, is to break out of this loop, and take pride in doing that!
… once that becomes the new normal, maybe the ones ‘breaking the mould’ would be the ones going down the “conventional” path? It’s a loop of loops!

The only thing we can do, I think, to break out of this loop is to really choose to do what we want, and take pride in it!
Perhaps then, to break the mold would be to go down the “conventional” path?
It’s an endless loop of loops!
